Nuvi 755T - Custom POI Question

I haven't made a custom POI in a long time.
I got a Nuvi to replace my StreetPilot c330.

My custom POI's no longer display address info.

I am using Excel and put everything in this 4 column format.

Long Lat Name Address
-90.316029 38.613488 Acero 7266 Manchester Rd., St. Louis, MO 63143

(I do not use the column labels in the .csv)
I then save it as a .csv

While it works on my Nuvi, only the name shows up on the screen.

I'd like to have the address show up.

What am I doing wrong?

Also, can I make a 5th column and have the phone number appear.

Thanks

convert it to GPX

That's what GPX will do for you. It will display the POI Name AND address while CSV only displays the name. Also, GPX files are required for dialable phone numbers.

Turbo's Extra POI Editor makes it easy to convert XLS or CSV files to GPX. Oh, it's a free download as well.

POI Files

Instead of using excel, use notepad.
What you had:
-90.316029 38.613488 Acero 7266 Manchester Rd., St. Louis, MO 63143
In notepad:
-90.316029,38.613488,"Acero","7266 Manchester Rd., St. Louis, MO 63143, (999)123-4567"
You can add whatever you want within the parentheses.

Converting

Thanks for everyone's help, but I'm a mac user.

I'll look around for a converter.

If I convert it to a .gpx file will I have the ability to make an icon appear if I'm within one the vicinity of one of the places on the list?

Try the mac forum?

Although some PC folks will still drift in and offer "help,"* try posting on the mac forum:

Try this converter. It should work with Mac.You will need to put header row in the csv file to convert. http://www.gpsvisualizer.com/convert_input .You will only see the icon once you get close to arriving at the location unless you zoom in on the map page.Garmin not into cluttering screen with icons.
