Waypoints For Garmin Nuvi 660

I'm not sure what you mean.

What do you mean by "the nuvi 660 doesn't have built in waypoint functions."?

The nuvi 660 has the capability to store 500 Favorites/Waypoints.

Note that it is not possible to load any other sort of open source (or otherwise) software on a Garmin GPS unit.

What exactly are you trying to do?

I need to be able to go from waypoint to waypoint as if I'm going on a bike ride... like a route function or something.

I don't want to repeatedly select a favorite every few hundred yards once I reach a selected favorite.

You can create a route by selecting your destination and then add as many vias as you need.

Where to>Select Destination>Go
Then Where to>Select via location>Go>Add as Via Point.

I think the 6xx series nuvi only supports one via (or stop as it is referred to in that series). It sounds like you need to upgrade to a model that supports multipoint routing.

Ah. What you are asking about is ROUTES.

You need to purchase a different GPS unit if you want the ability to store routes.

The nuvi 7xx, 8xx, 5xx and Zumo models support it.

Go to Garmins website and look at the specifications tabs for the different models and you will be able to see which unit support stored routes.

Can't be done (except with a single via as noted above) on the nuvi 660.
