For some reason, not all mapping versions and not all models show all of the water.

I used to have a country house that, depending on which navigator I used and what mapping I had loaded did, or did not show our lake. It always showed the road leading to the place - I just never bothered to characterize the combinations.

If you must display bodies of water in a single unit, you might want to consider getting a dual mode unit from the GPSMAP family that does both automotive and marine . . . if this is because you have a boat, there is huge selection of marine-only devices out there.

Everything shows on my 765T as well. Can't remember about my 200W, and I seem to have lost it someplace crying

It's about the Line- If a line can be drawn between the powers granted and the rights retained, it would seem to be the same thing, whether the latter be secured by declaring that they shall not be abridged, or that the former shall not be extended.

I've Got Water

I have a Garmin 255W and it shows lakes, rivers, streams and even some man made ponds around golf courses. It depends upon how much resolution you use.

MY 760

my 760 shows the rivers and streams....but i live on a small lake like 80 acres and it dose not show on the garmin....thoughts??

Check The

Map detail page and set it for more detail.

Some of the newer maps show less extraneous detail (lakes) than older maps.

If you ain't got pictures, I wasn't there.

More detail

Both my Nuvi 260 and 265wt show bodies of water. Have you got the unit set to show "more detail"?

even puddles

They call them tanks here in Texas, but they amount to a small, often man-made depression in a pasture where runoff collects as a watering hole for the cattle. Some of these are not more that 50-100' in diameter and most show up on my 750, but I have detail set to max. Of course all the streams, ponds and lakes do also.

Go to this link: https://buy.garmin.com/shop/shop.do?pID=1456&pvID=30132&ra=t...

Select the View Map tab, click someplace on the map and then pan and zoom to the location in question to see if that lake exists on the map. If its not there then it won't show up on your GPSr.

Considering that the maps designed for automotive GPSrs need to focus on streets and highways, it would seem reasonable that to keep map file sizes in check, they might eliminate landmarks that aren't significant. I hadn't noticed that some of the tanks near me were not on the current maps until I just now checked the above site. Sure enough, some that were on my older maps have since "dried up".

Report it to Navteq

It has to be a missing feature, like a missing road. My 760 shows even tiny ponds like only 100'-200' across while I'm driving by. I have my map detail set to 'more' but it does that even when set to 'normal'.

most detail

i have mine set to show the most detail.....also i've just downloaded the newest version from garmin...thoughts??

If it's not on the map, use Navteq's reporting tool to report it. They will eventually get it added to their maps.
