How to activate Life time traffic on Garmin 255WT !!!

Hey friends,
I was concern for Lifetime traffic activation on my new 255WT bought from BEST BUY.
I read some post on Google that users are finding it difficult to activate the traffic option on this device. Some says its just plug and play while you are in traffic receivable area. and some of them have commented that after updating the device firm ware from the website they have lost the traffic option.
Guys please help me out. I don't wanna mess with my new device without knowing the fact about update.
Anyone who is using this device can please tell which is the latest version of the north American Map on this device 255WT? Is it 2010.30?

When the lifetime traffic is included once you plug the power cord into the car it will pick up the traffic signal.Should not be any thing else to do.You can check while the power cord is plugged into your car.Touch tools,settings and traffic.

T Units
Take the T units every time, especially since in the case of the 255 most of the WT's are selling for the Same price as W's

Thanks for spotting it out.
I have already saved 2010.30 version on my computer for my older 255W unit. Should I again download it for 255WT or I can use the same one for 255WT too. should it be compatible for new device 255WT?

I know 3 people including myself who purchased the 255wt on black friday for $125 at Best Buy. All of us have updated to the lastest firmware and maps, (yes it is 2010.30), and have not had a problem with traffic. The traffic will not work unless it is being powered to the FM traffic adapter (aka. cig ligher power cord) that came with it. Some people are forgeting that while they have it plugged into the PC, the traffic will not work because the FM reciever is part of the car power adapter.
No problem with Traffic
I registered my new 265WT the day after Christmas, updated the firmware and then went for a drive with unit. The traffic started to work within 2 minutes in the Ottawa area no set up etc needed.
The next day I drove to Montreal and the traffic worked there too.
