The 260w sells in kijiji for 80 bucks, i would rather go with something newer.

I think the 260 series has been discontinued.

I've had my 255W for a year now and am very happy with it. It's a good, solid, RELIABLE unit. At that price and with traffic, I can't see how you can go wrong.

The 265WT is still current, according to Garmin's web site. Bestbuy is selling the 255WT for $129.99, and Amazon is offering the 265WT (which should be exactly the same as a 255WT but with Bluetooth included as well) for $139.99 with free shipping.

Having said that, and because the OP mentioned he wasn't interested in the traffic service, if anyone has a spare lifetime traffic receiver they don't want, I'd love to get one.

Perhaps your navigator has died or been stolen and your new one came with another traffic receiver.

I can swap it for a conventional non-intelligent power cord or one with MSN Direct (which is almost the same thing) - that's the one with the larger connector, the GTM-20 with the lifetime traffic feature.

If you have a USB-style lifetime traffic cable you aren't using, I would like to get one of those too, but I don't have a 'regular' power cord to replace it with.

My navigator supports both connections. My MSN DIrect subscriptions have expired, the service as a whole is coming to an end and money is very tight.

Please PM me if you are willing to donate or exchange your lifetime traffic receiver cable.

My buddy just got one for that price about an hour ago. They had tons of them at the Best Buys in Kennesaw, Ga.

Hey guys .I just bought one from Best buy. I bought 255W on black friday deal. But I replaced it with 255WT . just 10 more bucks and life time traffic. Sounds great. This offer is going to continue till 26th of Dec. Its fast moving product so act fast.

They are good units...my son has one and is happy with it.

When I picked up my 255WT at best buy, I found a clearance deal on 1250T which has essentially the same features and I only paid ~$75 each after tax. Grabbed two at that price!

I wanted to get 255WT but after too may not good comments about traffic, I got 255W instead. Happy with the unit but now like to know how good/bad the traffic is

Reports vary from individual to individual, but as you opted to not spend the $10 more at BB I guess you will always wonder if you should have made that investment. The quality of the traffic depends on the area and the coverage. It's getting better as the automatic systems get tuned and more come on line.
