Nuvi 256WT on sale for $159.99

Circuit City online has the Garmin Nuvi 265WT on sale for $159.99 and I am wondering if this a good deal? I also would like to get some feedback on how the lifetime traffic works.

You can get the price lower by using BCB. Last time I checked a few days ago, it was 13.1%. So it brings the price down to $139. Not too bad for a entry level nuvi with life time traffic and Bluetooth. Be advised that it does not have the power the FM traffic antenna integrated into the cradle. So it's more of a hassle to put things away.

Works great

Bought it at amazon last month. The unit works great so far. The only draw-back is that the lifetime FM traffic receiver is included as part of the car charger cable GTM25. The GTM25 replacement cost is almost $90 so I am careful with it because I do not want to damage this very expensive car charger. I have paired the unit bluetooth with my Blackberry with no problems. The traffic alert works pretty good in the NYC metro area. The directions are good with enough alert time for me to get over to the correct lane.

Circuit City

Excuse me, but I don't know what BCB and I could not find it anything on it using google?

Check Out Amazon

$159 at Amazon and you can get a $10 refund when you submit for the money rather than the 1 yr subscription to Wired magazine. Check out the descriptions and feedback from other buyers/reviewers at Amazon. I also do not know what BCB means but sounds like something to explore if there is a 13.1% discount. Need "ianlin" to provide more info or if there are others that know BCB, please post the info.

Nuvi 265WT

You can pick up the unit at Costco for $169 and it includes a case. Not sure how long the "instant" coupon is good for. Does not show up on website.

Meaning of BCB

BCB = Bing Cash Back

Just go to Bing.com and click on shopping. Search for Nuvi 265WT. It will bring up a list of sites like Circuit City that have 5% or more cash back which gets deposited to your Bing or Hotmail account after a certain amount of days.

Read all about it at http://www.bing.com/cashback/

Thanks

Thanks to 'jakas' - I am going to check out Bing.

Garmin 765T for 209.99

Compusa.com has a Garmin 765T for $ 209.99
It has lifetime traffic update, Bluetooth, MP3, and FM transmitter.

You might want to go Compusa.com and check it out.

They have other Garmin products that you can compare it with.

Traffic ahead

I have the 265WT. I missed the Thanksgiving sale at Best Buy ($125.00) and I purchased it Fry's Electronics for $189.00. I do't know anything about the 256WT (I just notced you had a typo) but there is a "Traffic" icon on my upper left screen and when I tap on it I could see a "Red" highlighted area that informs me of a traffic jam ahead. I used it in San Diego for a week now and today I'm going to test it out in New Jersey and NYC. I love this GPS but my wife and daughter hates it because I use it even when I go to the local store. It looks like you have a good deal. I wonder what it will go for by New Years?

While playing with your new GPS, "Please look ahead".

It is still available at

It is still available at Amazon for $159 with 5% cash back using PayPhrase. Otherwise, get it for $160 and 8% cash back through BCB.

Garman 265T available from costco.com for $129.99

If you don't need the wide screen of the 265WT, this will save you money. The offer ends on December 21.

On Sale

The 265WT is on sale in my area for $209 Canadian.
They are in very short supply though. They seem to have an abundance of 265W though at $199. For the extra $10 I would have to go for the WT.

garmin 265wt

lousy job on traffic in Hawaii. But directions were good. Pronounced most hawaiian names okay. Does good for metro NYC for traffic report.

255WT for 129.99 - 15% bing cash back ~$110

I got the above price for the 255WT this weekend -- I didn't see much difference in features with the 265WT to justify extra cost...

EDIT: AT BEST BUY online with in store pickup.

Difference appears to be inclusion of bluetooth which for me is n/a.

nuvi 250 --> 1250T --> 265T Lost my 1250T

Use it going to the local store?

...757

There are a lot of reasons to have it on all the time...

A. Red Light and Speed Cameras (My daughter didn't turn hers on as she knew where she was going. She rolled a "Right-On-Red" and it cost her $100).

B. Calling in traffic mishaps on 911. Accurate location is a must for Emergency Services.

C. Guys don't ask for directions...unless you overfly MSP.

D. The Garmin voice is selectable and is sometimes better to listen to than whomever is telling you where to go.

E. You can't go anywhere without a Magenta Line to navigate by.

F. Feel free to add more.....

Jihad THIS!! Political Correctness is a doctrine fostered by a delusional, illogical minority, and rabidly promoted by an unscrupulous mainstream media, which holds forth the proposition that it is entirely possible to pick up a turd by the clean end.

I would say it's a Good Buy!

Yes, Bluetooth is the only feature difference from 265WT. To me, I prefer my Bluetooth Headset more than the one from GPS since it's on my ear when I leave the car & I can still talk and take the phone with me.

I would go for that price at this time.

Best Buy website doesn't mention anything about traffic capability of this model! Does this model 255W come with free traffic or not?

Check the Garmin Page

The specs for individual Garmin models can be found here: https://buy.garmin.com/shop/shop.do?cID=134

The 255W

does not come with traffic. The 255WT, which is a Best Buy exclusive in the US does.
