Take care of that back

Gary, Take care of yourself, most doctors report the only real thing you can do is bed rest. Hope you feel better soon.

Walking for back trouble

My dr. tells me to walk and stay active and not to lay down when I hurt my back. It works. If I walk a lot it seems to get better sooner.

Walking Vs. Rest

I usually walk twice a day. I walked last evening and then again this morning. I had to cut the morning walk short because it hurt so bad.

Came back, took 2 Excedrin and laid down on the heating pad for about an hour. Now, it doesn't feel quite as bad.

I'm still trying to figure out the balance between rest and walking.

It's very good you walk, just don't overdo.

Walking for Health

My company has been pushing everyone to start walking as part of a healthy lifestyle push.

Walking

I started walking twice a day back in April after my BP went up and my doctor said I needed to loose weight. Since that time, I've lost about 40lbs. and want to try a loose another 10-20lbs to get to my ideal weight. The BP didn't come down as the weight did, so I ended up on medication anyway, which I was trying to avoid (family history).

Unfortunately, about a week and a half ago, I over did it while working at my in-laws farm up in Indiana and badly strained a muscle over my right hip. Since then, it starts to get better but then comes back even worse.

So like I said, I'm trying to find a balance between rest and moderate exercise until it finally heals.

I'm B a a c k !!

Just returned from my final hunting venture for this season. Weather has been very cool up there with lots of rain and last week, snow. Had a great time in spite of the cold and wet so, will gladly retire to a warmer environment for a week or so.

Hope all at POI-Factory have a great week.

Great deal on airfare

Just thought I would share this great deal from Southwest airlines: http://www.southwest.com/

this deal ends October 29th and you have to fly between December 2nd and the 16th or January 5th through February 10th.

Miss POI

The daylight is getting shorter.

I took my daughter to a boys scout camp last Sat and enjoyed the camp fire. I could have used a GPS to find my way out of the dark woods at night to go and find my park car. smile

hello

hello

anybody got a reliable

anybody got a reliable repair shop in the Los Angeles area that works on Toyota/Lexus cars using OEM parts only?

the weekend is almost here

the weekend is almost here

Walking is good But

not while your back is in a acute situation, Rest in bed until you have it feeling better. Then start the rehab for it, otherwise you keep it stuck in a loop or take a chance on on going problems.
So there really is no balance till you come out of the acute stage.

Good luck with you back, at least a tooth ache you can get jerked out, a bad back is a life altering problem if not treated properly in the early on set.

Time Wasting

With all the rain in Texas, I spent a day looking into animated gif possibilities after reading about them here.

Saving Gas

For all of us who will lose our MSN Direct and the ability to check gas prices and save a dime or two, here is a site on how to get the most mileage per gallon of fuel. Also, good news on American made gas saving hybrids.

http://autos.aol.com/article/how-to-get-100-mpg?icid=main|htmlws-main-n|dl4|link3|http%3A%2F%2Fautos.aol.com%2Farticle%2Fhow-to-get-100-mpg

Just checking in....

Hope everyone has a great weekend. Looks like the possibility of more rain for us. Seems like we are trying to get caught up on our yearly shortfall, all within a 1 to 2 week time period.

Two more days until the weekend! Seems like I'm always counting down the days.

Road trip

Just used my Garman 765T on my road trip to MN from TX. It worked perfectly! It was so easy to get around the cities,go sight seeing and find a way to travel that had us aviod Oklahoma Cith, Wichita and put us back on 35 on the out skirts of Kansas City. It was so easy to program and the POI htat I down loaded from this site were the best. Very accurate.
Thank you all contributers.

Miss POI as a cave woman.

So what are you going to dress up as for Halloween?

I am going to a party dressed as a cave woman. I am planning on playing the full role and not talking at all during this party.

I am not sure if I can do it or not but I will have fun with all of my friends.

I can't wait to see the looks on the faces when I start looking for bugs to eat in their hair.

This is my favorite holiday of the year.

Daylight Saving time

This was just passed on to me in an e-mail. thought it was quite good.
When told the reason for daylight saving time the old Indian said…

‘Only a white man would believe that you could cut a foot off the top
of a
blanket and sew it to the bottom of a blanket and have a longer
blanket.’ laugh out loud smile

Yep, my doc said the same thing - also core strengthening and stretching are also equally important. I too have lower back issues with L4 & L5 coupled with arthritis in my SI joints.
