Garmin 255W questions...

HI Everybody it has been a long while since I posted, but I just recently got back into the GPS world.
I had originally bought a C330 Street Pilot, but gave that to my son a while back, after I purchased a nuvi 750, which I later took back to the store.
Now I have a 255W, and I have a couple of questions.
I have built several POI files, and they have been downloaded many times. (Thx for all the downloads, BTW!)
Here is my first question:
1.) I have to go to "Where To: Click down: Extras: Custom Poi's: then select the POI I want" It works, but that seems to be a lot of clicking... So, my first question is, Is there a better way to get to my POI'S?
2.) Is there a way to have the "Extra's or Custom Poi's come up on the first screen?
3.) When I get my custom POI up finally, the info is hidden under the "MORE" button. Is there a way to get it to show up under the POI name, like it did on the C330? At first, I thought I was going to have to rebuild all of my POI files!!!!
On an Ipod and my digital cameras, you can customize the menu to put what you want where you want it....

Maybe Garmin could put this on a fast track for a firmware upgrade option!

Not likely to happen. They tailor the user interface to the most likely usage. That would be people only using the POI's that come with the maps.
Also, everytime software/firmware is changed, there is a chance that something else will get screwed up. They know that and would only want to make changes for things that are really needed.

did anyone notice that 255w would go to map screen without touching any buttons? That was true until I did the software update, now you have to press every button to see the screen. I really did like it going to the map screen without doing anything. I might be confused, it might only have gone to the screen where you select destination or map.
Whichever it is, I really liked not having to press all the yes, no, or ok's.

Use GPX Files

If you load custom POI files from a GPX file instead of a CSV file, the address and description will show up without having to press the More button.
You can use Extra POI Editor to create GPX files or convert CSV files to GPX.

Have you ever tried GeePeeEx Editor? I continue to see people having problems with other editors, but the GeePeeEx Editor works like a charm for me and others I've spoken with that uses it.
