Using an SD Card??

grin Hello all i am quite new to this site I have poked around for a few -

I have a question and was wondering if anyone can help me? I am in sales and i am always on the road - I noticed my Nuvi 265WT has an SD slot so i went out and got a 2 GB card, Great!! well here is the question.

I like to go to google maps find the location i'm going to, then SEND it to my GPS - this can get annoying having to plug my GPS in and out every time just to do a quick add of my next customers place.

Is there a way i can just drop that onto the SD card pop it in my Nuvi - Bam lets go, Some times it's 1 place others its as many as 10

by the way I am on a MAC and it has an SD slot on the side.

If you like using Google maps let me make a suggestion.Create a account and go to my maps and create a new map and name it what you want.Make sure to mark it not public.Just like you done before put the address in.You will get three pop up screens total when you click save to my maps.On the third one add the name in the comment or reverce the name with address.Once you have completed just click done. Now you can go back to my maps anytime and see the list and edit or delete as needed. Now with your map created go to link located on right near top and click on it. Under paste link in email or im you will see the highlighted link right click mouse and save it.
Now go to site http://www.takitwithme.com/ and paste in the url you copied where it says paste in your Google my maps url. Now click load my map.
You will have a choice to upload to garmin gps (will go to favorites) or download GPX. Select download GPX and save it on your computer. You now have a custom poi file that you can add to your main folder or subfolder.Using poiloader you can select the sd card to load you pois if needed.

Gps! ask where to go and get there! Best of all, what we need is to have accurate pois to reach all destinations

Here is the complete

Here is the complete process.

1. Go to Google maps http://maps.google.com/maps and click on sign in. Now create an account.
2.Once signed in go to create new map on left. Fill in title and description. Under privacy settings mark public or unlisted. Then click done.
3.It will now show under my maps. Make sure you have check mark in title. The map will always be there unless you delete it.
4.Now go to top and click on either search the map (single address) or find places of interest (listing by name). For example National Parks.
5.Once you make the search you will see results on left. I like to use two screens in the process. One for the data listed on the web page and Google my maps. This allows me to compare the address from the data page to what shows on Google maps in case it shows more then one listing.
6.Click one marker you want. Popup will come up click save to my maps. Next popup which map you want to save it to click on save. Next popup should show info click on save. Anything on last popup is the time you want to remove any information not needed or make any changes before saving. Remove more info or picture for example.
7.Now go back to search and put the next address or place of interest in. Repeat this each time you complete one.
8. Once all your locations are entered go to link located on right near top and click on it. Under paste link in email or im you will see the highlighted link right click mouse and save it.
9.Now go to site http://www.takitwithme.com/ and paste in the url you copied where it says paste in your Google my maps url. Now click load my map.
10.You will have a choice to upload to garmin gps (will go to favorites) or download GPX. Select download GPX and save it in the correct folder or subfolder. If you want to convert GPX to CSV continue with step 11.
11.Download http://turboccc.wikispaces.com/Extra_POI_Editor (only works for windows now) and load the gpx file to it. You now will be able to review the file and make the necessary changes or add additional information such as comments; alerts and etc .You can save the file as a csv or gpx file. You will lose the additional information if you save as a csv file.

I re-read first post. There should be a way to delete a post if I or when I forgot what I read.

Weird

Whenever I click Save Map it just hangs and locks up. Is there any workaround for that? I doubt it, but thought I'd ask.

I just tried a test run on

I just tried a test run on the Google My Maps and it worked ok.I use both MSN Explorer and Windows Internet Explorer 8.
