I believe it was the late ambassador George Kennan who wrote, "California is just like everyplace else... only sooner."
If these cameras prove profitabl... ahem... to promote safety, expect to see them in the other states and provinces 'ere long.

I just had a wonderful conversation with my Dad in Orange County, CA.
He's aghast at the large number of drivers who text while on the road. He says many Californians demand laws to protect them but have no qualms about breaking when it suits them.
California is a very interesting place. Too bad it has 55 electoral votes.
