I'd like to suggest an article on loading custom vehicle icons. In addition to the Garmin website there are a couple of other websites which offer free vehicles.

Thanks for the bing tips

Thanks for the bing tips - I often use bird's eye view to find the location of a specific building. I did not realize this feature existed in Bing.

Another Bing Tip

I sent this tip on to Gary but it doesn't seem to have made it into his excellent web site yet:

In Bing maps, when you search for a location and its found, a red box with a blue arrow appears on the map at the location. Hovering your mouse over that box allows a popup to appear which contains the SEND command for uploading the point to your Nuvi as a Favorite.

But what if you had a number of locations you wanted to send to the Nuvi. Bing can do this transfer all at one time. To accomplish this, instead of selecting SEND from the pop-up, select ADD TO COLLECTION. This results in the Collection Editor window opening and your location push pin appears there. Now enter another location search and ADD it to your collection. Continue until you have all your addresses showing in the Collection Editor window.

Now in the Collection Editor window, select ACTIONS and SEND, then GPS. This will result in ALL of your listed locations to be send to the Nuvi as Favorites in one upload.

If the Gary your are referring to is Gary Hayman, sorry to report I didn't receive your writing.

You have a great point. I only covered sending the one 'waypoint' from Bing to the GPSr and didn't cover the 'Collections' aspect of the Bing program.

That would make an excellent, either seperate article or addendum to the current article.

If you would care to put together a comprehensive and interesting writing with examples and graphics, I would be glad to publish it giving you the authorship credit.

You can reach me through the address in the 'info page' section of the WEB site

Yes, the photo has always been winking. Thanks for noticing.

Most men don't notice the wink but almost 100% of the women who see my photo notice it. I guess women linger a little more on photographs of handsome men. wink

Miss POI tells me that she has her laptop screen by her bedside with my picture showing and uses it as a crutch to fall asleep at night. Either the winking has an effect or just closing her eyes so she doesn't have to see the photo is a sleep stimulator.
