No voice Alerts with new beta file.

Ok i have loaded the beta file red light camera file. The last time i loaded both files in the folder but was told only to load one. So i have done this. I am not getting a voice alert when approaching a camera, only a screen alert. The mp3 voice alert is named exactly the same as the camera alert! Does anybody have any ideas as to what could be wrong? I just loaded the other red light file to see if that corrects what gone wrong. I will test it later.

The alert is named Redlight - Beta?

The filenames have to match for POILoader to associate them. Redlight-Cameras.csv. .bmp and .mp3 all have to be the same. If you use the beta file, you change the bmp and mp3 file names to match, or - it's sometimes easier to just rename the redlight file.

I rename the updated beta file to match my existing BMP and WAV files. Only one thing to change that way.

Where is the red-light beta file. I don't get that as one of my options to download? Thanks.

Beta file access

Then who can access the beta file?

Once you become a active

Beta file

The Beta file is an option available to active members only unless Miss POI sends you a copy. My understanding is they are evaluating other options that may make the Beta file information available to subscription users.

beta version

Ok, the last two post don't clear it up for me. The first one seems to say I can't get it because I am a subscriber, which I am, and the 2nd says become a subscriber and I can get it. (The Beta File is not an option for those that have a subscription.) vs. (The Beta file is an option available to active members only unless Miss POI sends you a copy.) Bottomline is, how do I get it as a subscriber? Or perhaps is this a question for Miss POI? The issue is that I am interested in the cross street information but have been unable to convert using the cross street converter in the last month, and it would appear that the beta version has the cross street info. Thanks.

Ask Ms. POI

Unless you become an active supporter of the site and its forums, she will have to authorize sending the file.

The Beta file with its cross street information is available as a download option to active member only at this point.

This is a post from Miss Poi last February. It should clear it up for you:

Quote:

"Beta file is now up
I have the first beta test file up on the site now for Active members. Once we work out the kinks I will post it for subscribing members. If you are a subscribing member and would like to be part of the beta testing , send me a note and I will send you the file.
This week’s zip file now contains 3 files, the two original and the new file (named “Redlight-Beta” ) containing cross roads. The new cross roads file does not contain the identifying code that the other files do.
If you are using the new file make sure you don’t have the old version loaded or you will get double alerts.
The street names are shortened to take up less space on the GPS screen. This was done automatically by dropping directions and street types (e.g., E 54th AVE -> 54th). Some did not turn out so well, and I will need to go back and manually fix these.
I would like to know how the new file looks on your unit and if you had any trouble loading it.

Thanks,
Miss POI"
