Do you want a list of motels or hotels? There is a major difference and personally, I hate staying at a motel (sometimes that is all that is avail.). Places that have the doors to the rooms on the outside are motels, hotels have the room door inside the building.
Is there any particular brand? I use hilton, and once I figure out all this POI stuff out, I will create one for Hilton and try to figure out how to place it here.

Ok, not to nit-pick too much, but what about, for example, Hampton Inn or Sleep Inn. What would you consider those? I'd consider them motels, but they have the room doors (at least the ones I've been too) on the inside.

MM, you can hang with the best, huh? Actually Hampton Inns can be both, I have stayed in Hamptons that were both motels and hotels. The hotel ones seem to be nicer though. However, that being said, I have stayed in some hampton inns (HOTELS) that were really bad. Now that I have GPS, I will search for another hotel, if I am dissatisfied with Hampton (which is what I normally use)
In short, it doesn't matter the name brand. If the room door is outside, that is a motel, otherwise, it is a hotel.
