Already made a mistake Uploading to GPS

I'm laughing about it, because I normally read instructions .. but this time i got cocky.

Anyway, I've downloaded and Uploaded about 5 POI's .. with pics and souns .. but did not change the pics and sounds name to match.

Is there a way to delete these, or will it automatically overwrite the POI files that were uploaded?

Any help is great.

Thanks

No need to delete

Every time you run poi loader it will overwrite existing data.

rename files

After you load a file, go into you unit and file the poi file. Open it up and rename the poi.gpi file to xxxxx.gpi. When you load the next file do the same thing with a new name. I name each file as what it actually is that way when I update I only effect that actual file. Do a search on the subject there are many posting.

ahhhhhh, pretty big issue

ahhhhhh, pretty big issue there. so i uploaded 3, only 1 would actually stick? (Because they are overwriting each other?)

In POI-Loader, on the screen

In POI-Loader, on the screen where you enter the folder location of the files to be uploaded, select Manual instead of Automatic(Recommend). This will allow you to select each file separately and they will all be combined into one poi.gpi file.

This is a personal preference issue. I like to have my poi's on the computer setup all the time. I have different configurations for my c330 (that my parents use), my c580 (the unit I use for work) and the 760 in the wife's car. I run about 15,000 / 50,000 / 120,000 pois on the units.

I have folders setup for Stores, Automotive, Food, Rest areas and such. My personal preference is to add the updated files on computer and the load them all at once. I didn't like renaming the files on the gps. I think that it is a logic thing and I see benefits for some people.

The main thing is do it a way you understand and works. What you load from the poi loader will load everything you tell it to, it just overwrites the poi.gpi file. If you rename that, then the next time you load that file doesn't change.

Again, Big Help Daniel. I've renamed the files, works well. Glad I'm new at this, or I'd feel like an idiot. Now I know, no more (of that) mistake.
