Nuvi 660 -- and not upgrading it or maps until Garmin fixes long-standing bugs/problems, and get maps to where they are much more current, AND corrected on a more timely basis when advised of mistakes.

Working for me also

Click the sound to hear it

Right click it to Download it.

It must be my computer not

It must be my computer not letting my download files, maybe being blocked by security sofware? Thanks for the replies

doesn't play for me either

Working with a new computer here. Clicking on the file, the quicktime Q comes up then a solid gray line. No sound. My old computer I'm sure played the sound.
Anyway, right click on the file and save it to a folder or desktop. Then either double click the file and it will play with your default player, or right click on the file and select a player. Doing it this way the file plays for me with media player or quicktime player.
That's how I can hear the sound....until I have time to get it to work like it should.

BTW experimented with several different files. Not the silent files...lol

Each computer is different

Different computers or operating systems handle files differently.

To be sure, just download the file to your computer first, then fiddle around with playing it. Windows users should try WinAmp, it is a no-nonsense sound player, unlike so many of the other players out there that try to do everything under the Sun for you.

Some computers haven't been told how to handle certain files by double-clicking, so open up the file directly in your sound player to force it to do the right thing. If it doesn't play then, I suppose you have a bad file or maybe it really is a recording of silence.

File associations

Just tell your operating system to associate that type of file extension with whatever player you prefer.

In Windows Explorer right-click on the sound file and select Properties. Then click the "Change" button next to "Opens with..." This works in Windows XP, I don't know about Vista.
