Gel pads

One of my cars has quite a sloping dash and my sandbag mount doesn't want to stay put, works fine in my other car. Anyway a friend has a couple of sticky gel pads that were given to him that he sits his 750 on because he was having the same problem in his truck. He says they work great. Yesterday I did some Googling and found some of the pads on overstock.com, they measure 6 3/4" X 4 1/8" and are selling for $2.99 with free shipping. Some places that had them wanted five or six dollars just for shipping.

I thought I would let the group know in case someone else would be looking for the same product.

Anytime you have a 50-50 chance of getting something right, there's a 90% probability you'll get it wrong.

I've got one on my dash that I use to hold the cell phone. It's been there for a couple of years and has become quite faded due to sun damage. It's also lost some of it's stickiness over time, but still continues to function. They are great for doing what you want them to do, providing an extra sticky surface for the mount.

Oh, I got mine free as a give away at one of the conferences I went to. The better ones seem to be the translucent plastic pads rather than the "leather look" type. The ones I've seen on store display seem to have lost a lot of their tackiness in a short time. But then cleaning may restore it.

Faded..

It might me faded, but it can get it's stickiness back just like any other thing of it's type.

clean with warm soapy water , rinse and let air dry.
