How much internal memory in nuvi 885 ?

Next time you are near a computer hook up your 885 via the USB cable. Both Mac and Windows will show a Garmin drive. You can then either get info or rclick properties and you will have your answer.

BestBuy claims their 885s have 2 GB of internal memory. My 855 has 4 GB. Let us know what you discover.

Mine have 4G internal memory plus mini SD 4G for MP3. Mostly all the new Nuvi unit have 4G built in memory so you can upload extra maps (Europe, Mexico....) Mine Nuvi 765T also have 4G

I'd hook one up if I had one. I wanted to know the memory before I bought one.

That's exactly what I wanted... and also point out that once again the info is all over the place from Vendors.

Best Buy apparently show the 885 as having 2GB based on the earlier post.

But now we have a confirmation from an owner that it is really 4GB.

That probably means it has 2gb available after the operating system is installed, 4gb total.

Thats right. The 885 shows around 4g worth of memory with a little over 2g of that dedicated to the operating system and map. Getting a micro card should solve any concerns of the limited memory.

Hmmm so my 855, basically an 885 without Bluetooth and msn direct, has more internal memory than an 885? I believe I have 4 GB internal. Of course I never received official word from Garmin as to how much memory the 855 has. But just from seeing it connected up to my computer and looking at the properties it has about 4gb.

Not quite enough memory to put North America, Mexico, and Europe on. But I do have North America (Canada and the U.S.) and Mexico and the Travel Guides and the Language guide. All told that is about 2.24Gb. I should be able to add europe being that it's 1.7 gb. But I can't so as I said it's probably less than 4gb. I'll probably need to re-add voices for my travel guide. So figure 2.5Gb

I own both the 855 and 885T and they each have 4GB of internal memory.
