Syncronizing Phone Contacts with nuvi 785T and 765T

I have nuvi 785T and nuvi 765T that tries to access my Sony Ericsson W810i cell phone.

When it access the phone it asks if OK to use as a modem?? and I accept and then it asks to access as a phone and I accept again.

It then tries to syncronize the contact list and that never stops until I eventually cancel the process.

The phone and GPS work fine for calls but there are no contacts in my GPS.

It is law in our area for hands on only so I can't go and use the phone to look up the numbers.

I also have a nuvi 680 and it just goes ahead and does everything and works.

Is this an Inherent nuvi 7x5T issue??

Is anyone else experiencing this problem??

Help! sad

Thanks

Takes time

My 265Wt and Sony 525i sync up right away but the contact list takes a few minutes to sync up. I suppose the longer the list, the longer it takes.

Re My Nokias Reply

Both the 785T and The 765T ask for permission to be a modem??

I assume it is because the phone has internet browsing ability, but my 680 doesn't ask me to do this??

Depends on how the phone announces itself

Most phones will not do this, nor will most carriers allow this. But a very few will allow the phone to act as a modem for your computer. So your computer could connect through the phone to the internet. In his case, his phone is announcing itself as having modem capabilities. It would actually be cool if the Garmin could take advantage of that. It would be slow, but getting Google or Yahoo search or internet traffic reports would add a lot of functionality.
