ideas for mounting a Garmin NUVI

So I have been using the Proclips for my Garmin Nuvi, with great success. I even have a proclip for my Nokia E71 that holds the phone upright for a good GPS signal and charges it. The problem is brackets for certain cars. I have one for the MINI Cooper and it works well. Can't find a solution for the Lotus Elise. Does anyone have a Lotus with a good way to mount the GPS securely? (winshield won't really work, as it is too small and the GPS blocks part of the road view)

Z3bum are you nuts???? Don't

Z3bum are you nuts????

Don't put anything in that Elise! The Lotus engineers did not put a GPSr in that car so it does not need one!!!! smile

GPS in Elise

Hah, hah, yeah, technically, I would be "adding weight" which in a Lotus, is a bad thing!

Still, it would be nice to be able to use a Garmin for twisty route drive planning and heading out to remote countryside locations!

Now it would be ok to add that weight if it was an Exige S.

This will work and it's light, so weight is not a big deal

Using Android Based GPS.The above post and my sig reflects my own opinions, expressed for the purpose of informing or inspiring, not commanding. Naturally, you are free to reject or embrace whatever you read.

You don't need a GPS.

You want to take the long way home.

Companies don't make clips for the Lotus. It's too small a market smile

cool looking Exige

That is a very cool looking car.

For now, I'll probably just rest the GPS somewhere and plug its sound output into the radio. (NUVI 360 is a decent MP3 player)

At some point, I want a newer NUVI that supports multimode use (marine and automotive) is waterproof and still plays MP3 music. Still waiting on Garmin...
