Nuvi 660 vs Nuvi 765T

I have a Nuvi 660 and am considering buying a Nuvi 765T. My question is if there are any real differences in the mapping and waypoints.

Main Difference

You can add more than one stop to you route.

Thanks

I could not resist and bought a Nuvi 765T yesterday. Could not resist the $397 price at Sams Club. So far, so good. I registered it yesterday and the Maps updated to 2010 Maps.

I took the unit on a trip from South Carolina to Memphis then to Ohio, Virginia, and back to South Carolina. I was very disappointed with the unit.
I completely charged the unit prior to my trip. The unit never showed a complete charge and the battery lost charge quickly when not plugged in. Traveling through Kentucky to Ohio the unit took me on a small road (15 ft wide) through the mountains for about 30 miles. While traveling from Virginia to South Carolina the unit had me exit off I-95 only to reenter on the same exit it took me off. Then while traveling on I-95 the unit decided to stop working then after about an hour it decided to work again, At no point in my trip did I see the Lane assist of photo of the exit appear.
I guess the reliability of my nuvi 660 spoiled me because what is the use of a GPS if it his not reliable. I will stick with my nuvi 660 until Garmin can fix the bugs with a new model.

660 to 765T

I have a 660 and will eventually move up. I love the features on the unit - the only thing it is missing is routing capability.

The 765T looks like the logical upgrade, but I am not sure that Lane Assist and Photo Navigation is all that essential. Of course, I used to wonder why people needed air conditioning.

760 Vs 765T

Here's a good review on the 765T, I have the 755T

Better question to ask is whether lane assist and 3D buildings exist for the area you're going to be driving in. From what I've heard many cities/countries don't have coverage.

3D

Is there someone out there that can explain the advantage of 3D buildings on a GPS? Seems there would be better and more usable things to spend money on by the manufacturers.

Bobby....Garmin 2450LM

3D and Photo Shots

Don't see as to the good of it either but like it in google earth, and now you can click on the camera and see what is on each street and what houses and businesses look like. Kind of scarey

3D = Gimmick

It appears that even Garmin has acknowledged that 3D buildings are a gimmick on GPS units. I say this because Garmin is not including 3D buildings on their soon-to-be-released models (13xx, 14xx).

it depends where you live.

All new cool features on 7x5 nuvis attract most of the people to upgrade from their's old units, because they expect its features to work everywhere, which is not true at all.

If you live in small comunity it is just a waste of money and price difference can be hardly justified. Most of the buyers will realise they were tricked by advertisement after a while.

Line assist and junction view work mostly in metropolitan areas only and buyers should be advised of this fact.
