New MSN Update

Garmin has released a update for MSN receivers. Changes are:

Reduce the time it takes to start receiving traffic data.

Fix display of 'Unknown' for gas station name.

If you're getting no new data...

As always, if you're not receiving updated MSN data, it might be a good idea to reset your MSN receiver via the reset button (GDB 50) or reactivate your account (GDB 50 or GDB 55) at:

https://www.msndirect.com/Activation/enter-home-location.asp...

I'm not sure if the secure link above is valid but you get the idea...

Well,just wondering how the update has worked for you guys. The 'unknown' for gas station name has been changed to 'unbranded'...a real improvement there. wink In my neck of the woods we haven't been receiving traffic updates at all for weeks and I'm just showing 'no traffic delays in this area'. I don't even get the local map that shows the incidents. For me, no improvement at all. sad

Has been working fine in my travels. "Unbranded" is an improvement only in that it gives better info - "Unknown" made it seem like it was waiting to be updated.

MSN Update

Just updated and it seems to be working fine. At first, I noticed some stations labeled as "Gas Station", but after a while the correct name was displayed.

Does This update download automatically? I just have to be in a MSN area?

MSN Update

Use the Garmin web updater on your Nuvi... Let it look for 'other' updates, and select the MSN update. When you connect your Nuvi to the MSN receiver it will update it (takes a few minutes).

Easy!

This is the first MSN update where I didn't have to go in later and re-enable the traffic subscription!
