Maps and SD Card??

Hello all, I just got the 2009 update map and loaded it onto my SD card with mapsource (unlocked). I kept the orignal 2009 map on the nuvi 260. From what I've read I thought I could pick which one I wanted. I went to "settings, map, map info" and only the orignal map is available. There are no other files on the SD card other than gmapsupp.img. Did I miss something??

Thanks in Advance!!!

I did somethng similiar and kept my 2008 maps

on an SD card using the following procedure.

1. Made a copy of the current GMAPPROM.IMG (containing the V2008 maps) on the GPS, and saved as GMAPSUPP.IMG on an SD card.

2. Created a file called GMAPSUPP.UNL on the SD card using notepad and entered the 25 digit unlock code for the V2008 maps (omitting any dashes). We currently had the GMAPPROM.UNL for the v2008 maps on the Nüvi, so we could just copy/rename that to GMASUPP.UNL on the SD.

Updated the Nuvi with 2009 maps. Inserted SD card with map data and we can now select between the 2008 maps on the SD card OR the 2009 maps on the unit using the map>map info. Don't use both at the same time.

Are the files the correct name on the SD card? The files on the SD should have the SUPP in the name. Others can confirm this if I'm in error smile Hope this helps.

Thanks Freddy!! I tried

Thanks Freddy!! I tried that but I still don't get the 2009 map update to show under "maps, map info". I don't have a gmapprom.unl on the unit, but I do have a gmapprom.sum. I think its encrypted because I can't view it. I tried to change the name to gmapsupp.sum but it didn't work.

Heres something interesting.
When I start the nuvi without the SD card, I get the startup screen and at the bottom it says "loading maps....".

When I start up with the SD card, I get the startup screen, still says "loading maps..." but I also get a green progress bar that goes across the screen.

So, it must be recognizing it. I'm wondering because its an update map, maybe I won't have the option to select it, maybe its part of the original 2009 map??
