Custom poi nuvi 255w

I h ave tried to creat custom poi file. I created one for my home with the following names:
My_Home_Redlight.csv
My_Home_Redlight.wav

I used the garmin poiloader to load it to a sd card. I then put sd card in the nuvi 255 w and it asked me if I wanted to install it and I said yes.

I have the proximity icon and it says the file is loaded, but it doesn't do anything when I approach home.

Does anyone see a problem with what I did? The .csv file has:
lat,long,My Home

Any help would be appreciated

simple, direct POI entries for 255w

In trying to create POI files, I have no problem getting long/lat/name, but I can't get the unit to post comments.

Have tried this with some of the ham radio repeater files and with small files of my own making.

I've had no luck getting comments onto a second line. I tried to do it by making POIs in a text file with a LF/CR included between the quotes, but had problems renaming the text file as a .csv.

It would be great to make a shell document in Excel that would allow us to move forward with this. Any chance of that?

Are you opening csv file in

Are you opening csv file in excel? You should be able to put your comments in Column D. Then select File>Save As>Select csv file.

Carriage Returns

There are several different methods to put a line break in Column D. The easiest is to use Enter where you hold the ALT key down and then hit enter.

When you select your Custom POI, the next screen displays the POI Name in the top left. You have to select MORE in the bottom right to see additional info.
