Sorry I don't get it, Language files,custom POI's and a tourguide file could do the exact same thing?

Huh?

That's very true. They are probably banking on the person that buys a gps and never updates it or adds anything, and uses it right from the box as is until it dies and they buy a new one. One stop shopping for the uninformed

Don't forget the 11th Commandment: "Thou shalt update thy firmware".

Guess it depends on who the manufacturer is, otherwise it get dicey at times.

Is that possible

Can you update the firmware on a Mio? A friend has a Mio 220 and is having trouble getting a firmware update.
