Turning Mapquest waypoints into a route on Nuvi 750?

I created a route on Mapquest and sent it to my Nuvi 750, then created a route from the .gpx file in My Data. The Nuvi recalculated that route.
Reading the forums, I found that no matter what route you choose by dragging on the Mapquest screen, the Nuvi recalculates it. The suggested alternative was to send waypoints, which I did.
Now.... where do I find those waypoints on the Nuvi to create my route?
.
They should be in your Favorites. If they aren't, then you need to import them from your MyData section. Then you would need to create the route manually from the Favorites.
Or you could use Garmin's MapSource software to create and send the waypoints and the route to the GPS unit.
Waypoints not in Favorites .... now what?

Only the start and end points were in my Favorites. The waypoints I created in Mapquest by dragging the route to a different road to force the route I want were not included. This makes using Mapquest to generate a specific route, different than what the Garmin would generate, utterly worthless.
And MapSource is not available to me as a Mac user. I can use the Road Trip software, but it's slow and clunky and generally a PITA to use.
So what now?

In your OP, you indicated that you created Waypoints and sent them to the unit.
When you dragged the route in MapQuest, you didn't create Waypoints. You would need to actually create discrete points, not just routing points.
As you observed, otherwise only the start and end points are transferred.
