Bent,

is the subscription attached to the GPSr or to the person paying for the subsciption? Can it be transferred to your next newer unit in two years, for example?

Thx.

It is tied to the receiver cable.

Ohh, interesting.

So it could be moved to a newer unit using the same connector smile

Yes

As long as you save the unlock key for the second unit it should be OK -- if the new unit will use the old cable/receiver and Clear Channel traffic.

that's sweet

and will make me less resistant to paying the $60 when my trial subscription ends.

Thx.

Lifetime

I may be wrong, but I believe that they went to lifetime traffic for $60.

One receiver's lifetime traffic works on both my 760 and C550

The same traffic receiver's lifetime traffic works on both my 760 and C550.

That means the subscription data is actually stored within the receiver -- hard to imagine, but great news. Thanks.

That is great

I have the receiver I got free with the 660..I may keep that for my 750..and sell the other..Or just keep them both, as I havent decided which one I like better.

Thanks, guys.

It's all very interesting. I guess the only problem I see is if Garmin changes that fancy connector to a different configuration in the future rendering our current receiver/cords useless.

...which they have. For example, I can use my GDB50 cable from my 680 for MSN with a 760/765, but not with a 265

WOW, I PAID $60 FOR 1 YEAR

MSN or Clear Channel??

The above posts references 660, lifetime traffic subscription and Clear Channel.

I have a 680 and I let its free 12 mo MSN Direct traffic service expire.

The link from Garmin to the MSN site only offers $50 for 12mo and $130 for lifetime.

Anyway to get Clear Channel for my 680?

So are you saying the

So are you saying the traffic power adapter for the 660 will also work with the 680, the reason I am asking is because I have both models and it would be great if this is the case

The specs say the 680 has fm

The specs say the 680 has fm traffic capability.Should be able to take the fm receiver cable from the 660 and use it for the 680.This is the listed receivers GTM 10,GTM 12,GTM 20,GTM 21 and GTM 25 .Look on the bottom of the reciver plug and you will see number of the one you have.
