Am I correct in assuming that if I bought the subscription to FM-Traffic via Clear Channel I can use both the free Navteq and Clear Channel. I live in Buffalo, NY and Navteq works here, but when I travel east to Boston there is no Navteq service just Clear Channel. Thanks!
it is my understanding that
it is my understanding that you could get both on the same receiver, you would just have to toggle which service you want to access in the menu on the unit.
FM toggle swap NOT
My 755T offers to either have FM traffic both or none.

755T and traffic question?
I just asked Garmin the same question for my 765T. I currently have the lifetime Navteq (with ads - but they are so minor I have no problem with them). I asked them Am I able to download the lifetime
subscription for clear channel and have both running at the same time? Any issues or bugs doing that?
The response was - "Unfortunately; there can only be one traffic subscription per traffic receiver. Therefore; and additional traffic receiver must be purchased in order to use a different traffic provider. Please let me know if you require further
assistance.
Since this makes it sound like I will not be able to use both, I asked for a little clarification - "I understand that I need to purchase the subscription for $60, but are you also saying that I need to purchase another GTM20 receiver to use clear channel?"
Waiting on their answer.
I see in the forums that people are using both together. have you driven in an area that just has Navteq? just Clear Channel, both? what have you seen in the above situations concerning traffic notifications?
Thanks
I live in Buffalo that only
I live in Buffalo that only has Navteq. I'm traveling to Boston at the end of month and the next city going east that has Navteq is Boston. Rochester and Syracuse and I believe Albany all have Clear Channel. That is why I wanted to use both. I could have sworn that I read somewhere that you could use either, but now I don't know where I read it. The piece I was reading said that on the traffic screen in setup you could choose which provider you wanted to use or set it to AUTO and it would choose the best signal.

Ok, I just got the new answer from Garmin on 2 traffic services -
"Correct. In order to receive the Clear Channel traffic subscription services; a separate traffic receiver will need to be purchased. If purchased separately; the traffic receiver will come with a free 15 subscription service; then the Lifetime Subscription can be purchased on original subscription becomes expired.
Basically; two traffic subscriptions can not be active on one receiver. Furthermore; the traffic receiver in the box of the 765T comes with Free
Lifetime Ad Based Subscription Service. Therefore; no purchase was necessary to activate this traffic subscription.
Traffic
While my 755T is not an exact match I ordered the lifetime Clearchannel and the Settings screen for traffic shows both Navteq and Clearchannel with only one check box for both.
I DID NOT purchase an additional receiver.

traffic & gas prices
I live in Albany NY area. Traffic is not a big problem. the price of gas changes so fast I wounder if the traffic unit would be good for my nuvi 350

.
My 765 came with the GTM 20 which of course includes the free Lifetime Navteq Traffic. I then purchased a $60 Lifetime TTN (Total Traffic Network/Clear Channel) subscription to use the same receiver with my 760. Both subscriptions are stored on that single GTM 20. Both subscriptions show in the traffic settings screen but there is only one check box to toggle traffic on/off with no means to select between the two. Because of this, I'm unsure of which one is actually being used.
To note: I have not received any ads for months now so that may be an indication that if you have both subscriptions on one receiver, the one that is used is the one that you paid for (in my case, TTN).

So it looks like the 755T operates differently from the 765T.

Does the traffic subscription work for the unit, or the traffic receiver (plug in the car outlet)? I decided to try to order the lifetime clear channel for my 765t. I followed the directions on the website:
1. Place the nüvi in the suction mount, and connect the power cable (with integrated traffic receiver) to an available power receptacle.
2. Turn the key in the ignition to apply power to the nüvi
3. From the Main menu, touch Tools > Settings > Traffic > Add. Your FM traffic receiver's Unit ID appears.
I got the id, entered it into the web site, but the next screen wanted me to select my gps unit. The 765T (or any xx5t models) was not one of the choices.
I hate to order, pay, only to find out during updates since I selected a model I do not have, it does not work.
Thanks
