Garmin spokesman releases sales figures for Jan-Sep 2008 period

 

Garmin saw a 56 percent increase in the number of devices sold in the first nine months of 2008, compared with the same time frame in 2007, according to spokesman Jake Jacobson. Garmin sold 10.6 million GPS devices from January through September, for $1.71 billion in revenue, he said.

Now that is going against the trend!

It will be interesting to see the 4th quarter figures.

That may account for the prices of the Garmin units creaping up

That may account for the prices of the Garmin units creaping higher and higher since the Black Friday deals. I sure wish I would have jumped on the 765t $325 deal then.

Market Share?

I wonder how the other manufacturers fared.

It seems the trend lately has been that Garmin has been losing some market share in the US, but the figures you mentioned look good.

I wonder how they did in Market share, I know the total GPS market has gone up...I feel Garmin probably did great.
