nuvi 660 internal speaker wont work

i just purchased a nuvi660 it came with no maps, and installed the 2009 maps and used the web updater to load 4.70 sw and 1.90 audio ver
but for some reason i can't get the voice to work when i punch in a address and hit Go. volume adjust in the menu is 100% not muted, audio output is set to internal speaker, hope iam not missing something , do i need to have a sd card in the slot, i loaded the Austrian lady voice , the webupdater said it was a sucess, in the nuvi file under voice i have both Jill and Karens vpm file thats all thats in the voice folder, before i used the webupdater it would say audio ver not compatable, thanks for any help with this issue

Nuvi 660 -- and not upgrading it or maps until Garmin fixes long-standing bugs/problems, and get maps to where they are much more current, AND corrected on a more timely basis when advised of mistakes.
i had 3 voices in the voice
i had 3 voices in the voice folder how do you activate one? is there another area where you turn on the internal speaker? is the vpm the only files that control the voices or TTS , wondered if iam missing some files, also i used my usb cable from my C330 to load the Nuvi 660 (does it matter) or are the cables driffrent for one unit to another. thanks

Click on the wrench icon at the bottom, then settings, language then select the one you want. As I remember the 660 has several voulum controls in the setting area...

You can select a voice under wrench/locale. Make sure you choose a voice that shows TTS.
