Can you get coordinates and addresses using google earth

Coordinates can be coaxed out of Google Earth. But if you want a quick way to look up points on-line, I found itouchmap.com/latlong to be a handy resource. Gives you the coordinates from a web page, in easy to cut and paste form, and the coordinates don't jump around as you use your mouse to copy them. Uses Google Maps data.

GeePeeEx Editor will preserve Address and Phone number data in .kml files and reassign them into their correct .gpx fields.

(Since KML only has an 'address' field, rather than fields for individual components such as street,state etc, you would have to make use of the Batch Geocoder to tidy up the output.)

You can just download everything to your GPS by using the send button in Google Earth

But of course this makes for even more work if what you are trying to do is build a set of POIs with accurate coordinates in them and need that information on the computer.

It helps for one point; it, obviously, does not help for building a POI file.

Which version of Google Earth has a "Send Button"?

I upgraded to the latest version I could find, which is 4.3.7284.3916(beta) (july 08).

I can't find anything other than a greyed-out GPS import (available in Google Earth Plus). I couldn't find any reference to it in the Online help either.

I think he meant Google Maps.
