Hello to all!

I received a new Garmin 265WT for christmas and I was browsing the internet for interesting things to put on it using my 4gb sd card. Came across this site, which has a TON of useful information. Hoping to contribute my findings over the next few weeks!!

Thanks!

Thanks to all who sent me birthday wishes. And I'm still old enough to be Miss POI's - er - very much older brother!

Mike the number for the whole site is 134,737. Some people just register to download files and others join the forums. So I am not able to get a number on just the forum participants.
We also get a large number of people that never register, only about 20% of the people that come to the site register.

Unfortunately, most are like Gym memberships. Come February or sooner and you won't see the like of them again.

Maryann, out of the total Membership, May I ask what the percentage is that is active?

Last week we had 415 active members. We have been averaging right around 400 for months now.

It is enough to keep me really busy.

Miss POI

(400+)That alone is a awesome number, yet alone those that come and go, My congrats to both of you for such success.

One of the 5827 was my son-in-law. A first time GPS user. I gave it to him for Christmas and he is having a fun time with it.

Thanks to POI Factory!

I am back

I have been very busy with a new job and haven't had time to get on here. The job is slowing down (some) but it gives me a chance to get back to this hobby.

I hope everyone had a wonderful Christmas and New Year.

This week's red light camera update

I just published the update for this weeks Red Light & Speed Camera files. I wanted to let you guys know that I am a bit behind in my research and I am waiting for a few confirmations before adding some of the most recently reported info.

If I don't feel 100% about a location I am not adding it until I am.

So if you don't see your stuff in the file yet, don't panic. Give me a week or two and it will show up.

Miss POI

Thanks

Now see what the Floridians are missing! All they have is the same old crap everyday! except during Hurricane season, then things get interesting for them.

Gosh I love winter! Getting 6-10 inches of snow tonight and another three tomorrow. I feel sorry for the Kids in Florida, no sled riding, snowman making, snowball fights, skiing lessons just the thoughts of these things when they see them on television.

No money to be made for the working man down there, must work and work and work and still get in debt.
To many retirees that are willing to supplement SS.
Just imagine how much that sunshine has cost you since 1978 by leaving Connecticut, since Florida is a right to work State.

I lived in Fort Meyers for three years, so your not fooling anyone with the paradise crap, lets see what happens when a Hurricane destroys your life.

So I have no problem picking up a snow shovel! and I really enjoy living on the largest port on the great lakes, and hording all the fresh water here and not going to send a drop to you guys down in paradise.
So keep trying to aggravate people with you living in the warm weather, most don't give a rats arse, and enjoy were they live or would have moved to Florida.

you will eventually return north due to thirst or loss of manufacturing because it takes water.

Through the Council of Great Lakes Governors, the region is now setting the pace in the global marketplace and protecting the world's largest single source of fresh water.

So there you go, you think you know what I want (sunshine), However I know what you need (freshwater).

Fresh water supply

BobDee wrote:

Bob, we took a driving trip last summer along the southern shore of Superior. In one of the maritime museums we were given an interesting factoid but now of course I don't recall the exact numbers. Something to the effect that the Great Lakes hold 95% of North America's fresh water and xx% of the entire world's fresh water. Quite an amazing statistic when you think about it. Would you happen to know the percentages?

Fresh water supply

John
Running from Minnesota east to New York, the Great Lakes are the largest body of fresh water in the world. They hold about 90 percent of the fresh water in North America and fully 20 percent of the world's entire fresh water supply.

Bob

For those that have never had the chance to see one of the Great Lakes, it's basically like standing on the beach of an ocean. Speaking of beaches there are miles of beaches along the North Coast of the United States and the Southern Coast of Canada.

And don't worry about Dog Vomit peeing in one of those Great Lakes, thats like stealing a grain of sand from the Sahara Desert. So with us controlling 95% of the fresh water sooner or later people will need it, and will move back to the region to enjoy a hot bath or a run through the sprinkler on a hot summer day,A cold drink of water right out of the tap and they will even get enjoy the four seasons.
