How do you back up a Garmin

I have a Garmin 760 and was wondering if somebody could tell me how to back it up in case I have a failure. I really do not want to try and find all the POI's I have loaded. Thank you!

Don't know if this is the correct way but ...

All I did was plug the Garmin into the computer with the usb cable, made a "garmin" file folder on my hard drive and copied all the files from the Garmin to this folder.

As far as the custom POI files I also have a file folder with them in there so replacing them would be not a big deal.

It's a good thing that there's GPS systems or I would be ... always lost!

Before backing up

Assuming Windows, before you backup you may want to do the following:
Go to Folder Options/View in 'My Computer' or 'Windows Explorer'; then verify Show hidden files and folders is checked, Hide extensions for known file types is unchecked, and Hide protected operating system files is unchecked.

Just my observation

I have noticed that when my GPS is mounted in my car and the car is placed into reverse then the GPS backs up automatically.
