Change History
Changes made from version 4.20 to 4.60:
* Correction to optimal route reordering.
* Added support for two traffic providers.
* Corrected issue with speed limits on certain roads.
I have loaded it into my 760 without problem and tested the route optimization with a 14 waypoint route that was 165 miles before optimization and 91.8 miles after. All 14 points were still there with none added or subtracted and both the original starting and ending points were still the same after optimization. Looks like they have solved the only remaining problem I was having with my 760.
Thanks for the post
All points noted in post - Faster boot up ( no long delay loading maps) Faster screen updates, etc.

Faster? Kind of...
Updated my 770 to 4.60: I had the feeling everything was faster until last night when it took a looong time to acquire the satellites.
I guess it's an OK update, no bad news but nothing really earth shattering: I was already happy with 4.20.
RAZR V3 with SMS
I upgraded my nuvi 760 to firmware 4.6 and did have one completely unanticipated result... the SMS text messaging feature when bluetooth-connected to my RAZR V3xx phone seems to have vanished completely.
My RAZR never did display SMS messages on my Nuvi... Upgrading the RAZR's firmware allowed bluetooth to work much better, but never did display text messages.
Is your RAZR on Verizon? It's my understanding Verizon 'cripples' bluetooth on their phones so they only work with their options.

Still got no signal in my house with my Nuvi 780
After I upgraded to 4.6, it seems to be much faster in getting satellites lock, furthermore, before when turning the unit indoors it would get signals about 50% of the time, now it seems to get signals 80% of the time and faster, it seems to be a very positive upgrade so far.
What is a track log?

trip log
What is a track log?
A track log, also called a trip log in some Garmin units, is a set of points that shows you where you have traveled. It is not available in all units, although should be in all new Garmin nuvis and most or all other Garmin gpss. It is not always displayed though, if you have the feature it is not displayed by default, there is a display option that makes it visible. Once turned on it shows as a blue line where you have been.
The log data itself includes a bit more than just the blue track, it also shows the exact time for each point recorded and the elevation. If you pull the "current.gpx" file off your nuvi (assuming that you have a nuvi) then the trip log will be in there after the favorites.

No, I'm with AT&T... BTW, the SMS feature does exist on my nuvi 760, I just never get any incoming texts with it. They just sit on the phone. I can send texts, but obviously I'd much rather be able to receive them.
GTMxx Firmware Update 5:30 to 5:50
Changes from version 5.30 to version 5.50:
Enhance subscription activation process to support subscriptions that apply to multiple countries.

ver 5.3 to 5.5
Can it use in 760? Thanks.
.
@ nickjr:
Thanks, I think that solved the no subscription problem on my 680 using the GTM20 that came with my 760.
My 760 displayed TTN (US,Canada) with both V5.40 and V5.50. My 680 displays TTN (US) with V5.50 and FM traffic didn't work with V5.40.
@ john.geng
The V5.50 firmware actually applies to the GTM traffic receiver for your 760. Use webupdater to download it to your 760, and it will be applied the next time you connect your 760 to the traffic receiver.

i also did voice update for "jack" and now get some stuttering. The volume has also been reduced after this firmware, so i used http://turboccc.wikispaces.com/Downloads
and was able to increase volume to 99 value and and now i can hear it again with volume set at 80%
great program
i wish they could fix the stuttering

I agree. Nuvi 760 volume is kinda low but my Nuvi 760 doesn't stutter since I loaded version 4.60.
Btw, looks like TTS voice editor is a great software. I'd like to give it a try.
This is funny: http://turboccc.wikispaces.com/TTSVoiceEditor
I'm talking about the snapshot (We are lost again!...)
4.60 firmware updated on 760
stuttereing is a know issue by Garmin and i was told that they are working on resolving it within the next few weeks
marnoldi Nuvi 680 & Nuvi 2797LMT
I thought they resolved it on version 4.20
One of the changes made from version 4.10 to 4.20 is as follows:
Resolved Text To Speech stuttering issue.
Take a look here:

When I use version 4.10, it stutters so bad to a point that it doesn't make sense anymore. Stuttering seems to disappear after loading 4.60 Maybe it does a little but not as bad as it was before. I can understand what it says now.
