Assigning Icons to POI's

each poi file can have one corresponding .bmp file.

if you want different icons for different poi's, make into separate files. You could still place them in one folder ... therefore allowing you to search/use the whole group together.

I have my McDonald's and Wendy's csv files in a folder called Food, which gives me that category under the Custom POI's. When I touch the Food category, I see them both.

The McDonald's csv has a "golden arches" bmp with the same exact filename except for the extension...and my Wendy's csv has a Wendy's icon bmp, again named the same.

These icons then appear on the map if zoomed in enough.

I even have alerts for each, with a proximity of 800 feet, but this is not necessary, and may be way more annoying than I want to put up with. I may just load the alerts for my Christmas trip, since I will be traveling interstates for the most part, and therefore only coming within 800 feet of either place, when I take an exit, or get to my destination...and then remove them when I get back

Put the bmp file in the same folder you have McDonald's and Wendy's and name them the same as the csv file you are putting it with.Just type in the name and make sure it is the same as the file you want it tied to.Don't worry about typing in the extension it will take care of it's self Example

Thank you for your response. I only thought you could assign one icon for one file, but your solution of creating a category folder with each poi in it with an associated icon will solve my issue.
