Traffic Indications on Map

I have FM Traffic and I see the green icon on top left of the screen .When traffic severity changes it goes to yellow or red and also shows expected delay time.Like you stated you can just touch the icon.For traffic in surrounding areas you touch icon then touch Show Traffic Map.

Does the traffic icon only show up in the corner if it is on your route or anytime there is a "accident" in the coverage area?

It shows up as green when in route.It changes color based on the severity of the traffic.Yellow and red being the most severe.When you touch the traffic map it shows surrounding traffic problems.

Looking at the owners manual is says you can check Traffic subscription by touching tools,settings and traffic.My unit came with the free FM Traffic.

I have Nuvi 760 for almost three weeks and have never seen any icon on main map screen. All I have seen few times a delay time on the middle right side of the screen. I am in Toronto Canada. Otherwise I can see traffic problems only thorugh Tools and Traffic icon. I don't think this service is great in Canada anyways.

I was looking on the map coverage and I see what you mean about limited but it does show coverage for Toronto.Really curious about why the icon not showing.Do you have the latest update?Some members posted that they did have a traffic update.It was on the second screen for webupdater located along with the voices etc.

Yes, I have firmware 4.2. I remember when I upgraded firmware 4.2 it updated FM traffic and MSN Direct. I don't see any other update except for other language voices.

What everybody is telling you is correct even though multiple responses seem contradictory. Traffic on the 760 model has no indications on the main screen unless there is a delay on your route. If there is a delay ON YOUR ROUTE, you'll see an icon on the lower right with a time indication of the amount of the delay. If there is no delay on your route, you need to navigate the menus to get a listing of routes nearby showing each road in green, yellow, or red depending on how jammed up traffic is.

On the newer models with an upgraded interface (like the 265t and the 765), the traffic icon is always towards the upper left of the screen. The icon is green if there are no traffic delays on your route, then yellow if a little traffic, and red if even more delay.

I personally like the newer interface much better and I'm hoping that Garmin releases a firmware update for some of the older models like the 760 that incorporates the new "skin" and other look and feel upgrades.

I did notice during my travels to the Florida Panhandle that the green icon will disappear when you are not in the coverage area for the Free FM Traffic that came with my unit.Going down I10 no coverage at all from Tallahassee to Fort Walton Beach.Kind of a let down.
