Dead or stuck pixel on LCD screen

Hi everyone,

I noticed that there is a dead or stuck pixel on my Nuvi 200w LCD screen. It is noticeable when the background is dark and there is one tiny glowing dot. I know it is not dust because I have cleaned that surface several times.

To Garmin, one dead/stuck pixel is not meant a defective product, I'm just curious how Garmin owners out there have stuck/dead pixel on their LCD screen.

Thanks

how to fix a dead or stuck pixel

These are instructions for an LCD monitor. You may be able to try it on your GPS but I am not sure.

Screen Recalibration

Are you able to recalibrate the screen. There should be a prompt under settings or tools. You may want to try that also.

Thank you for everyone

Thank you for everyone advices. Yes, I'm able to recalibrate the screen. A dead/stuck pixel is common on the LCD screen, many times it is hard to notice unless you look at it closely, but when the background is dark, you can see a very tiny white glowing dot.

Also thank you for the suggestion of using that JScreenFix software. Unfortunately that software only runs under Windows and it fixes the Monitor attached to the computer or laptop.

Try this...

I have used this on several computer monitors and it works great. Not sure if it will work on a touch screen but its worth a try.

Pressure Method

1. Turn off your computer's monitor.
2. Get yourself a damp washcloth, so that you don't scratch your screen.
3. Take a household pen, pencil, screwdriver, or some other sort of instrument with a focused, but relatively dull, point. A very good tool would be a PDA stylus.
4. Fold the washcloth to make sure you don't accidentally puncture it and scratch the screen.
5. Apply pressure through the folded washcloth with the instrument to exactly where the stuck pixel is. Try not to put pressure anywhere else, as this may make more stuck pixels.
6. While applying pressure, turn on your computer and screen.
7. Remove pressure and the stuck pixel should be gone. This works as the liquid in the liquid crystal has not spread into each little pixel. This liquid is used with the backlight on your monitor, allowing different amounts of light through, which creates the different colors.

Dead or stuck pixel on LCD screen

Has any one tried this method on Nuvi 755T screen (or any other GPS screen) with success?

.

I usually rub the point on my monitor with a micro- fiber cloth and my finger a bit. Works for stuck pixels every time. Dead ones, I have no idea...

cant be fixed

Trying to repair a dead pixel on a LCD screen, by any means, is like trying to repair a burnt out lightbulb. It just cant be done. It is what it is. A "dead" pixel.

Unless you are the lead sled dog, the view never changes. I is retard... every day is Saturday! I still use the Garmin 3590 LMT even tho I upgraded to the Garmin 61 LMT. Bigger screen is not always better in my opinion.

No I haven't try it on the

No I haven't try it on that Nuvi 200w which has the bad pixel. Ever since the oringal post, I have returned that GPS and got another one. This new one doesn't have the bad pixel.
