So you submitted an update on 11/22/07 and they replied in December 08?
Wow. I'm surprised they go back and notify the consumer that reported the error after so long of a timeframe.
I just submitted a NAVTEQ update a couple weeks go...I'll be sure to look for a reply from them sometime in late 2009.
They're Getting Better
So it seems they are getting better at updating roads. It only took them a year to respond to your update request.
.
They replied, but have the actually changed their maps. It would be interesting to know.
I live in the country and NAVTEQ shows a road that runs along the north portion of my property. This road doesn't exist and has never existed. My local community government has told me that it never will exist. There's nothing there but trees and grass...
I should let them know and see if they do fix it.
It does take time
and then, more time. Eventually they will respond

Generic response right away

I reported a couple of errors on the 2008 maps and got the generic "we have received your report" response right away. Never got acknowledgements later that the reported errors were fixed, though. And they WERE fixed on the 2009 maps. Maybe I was not the first to report those particular errors. Either way, the system does indeed work. Just slowly, that's for sure.
