Google Maps - Send to GPS

I am successfully using Google Maps to locate an address and send the name and coordinates to my Nuvi 350 favorites. This saves me from punching in the information on my Nuvi. Google maps also provides the address and phone number and displays this information as if it will be sent also. However, the only information displayed in my favorites is the name and coordinates. Do you know why the address and phone number that are displayed in Google are not sent to my GPS? This would be a great feature and a real missed opportunity if Garmin and Google did not take that into consideration.

Works on Bluetooth enabled devices...

I have the 265WT and all the information that shows up on Google (name, address, and phone) is sent over, including the phone number. I can just touch the phone number to place a call. Maybe this information only transfers over to units that have Bluetooth? I'm not sure why the address wouldn't come over though.

Thank you, maybe someone

Thank you, maybe someone else will know why it goes to your unit and not mine.

I have a 255W which does not have bluetooth and I am able to get the phone # in my favorites when I download from google maps. Ensure you see the phone number in the pop up screen and it should work.

.

It has to do with the way that the 350 uses the different information fields.

The 350 is different from all the other units. (Phil will be along with the technical description of the field and how the unit uses it as opposed to how other units store the data.)

But the end result is, I believe, that you are stuck with it unless you export the data and manually edit it and then reload it to the unit.

I do have the latest Garmin

I do have the latest Garmin Communicator Plugin. Motorcycle Mama has it right. I am stuck with it.

GeePeeEx Editor (Trial) can read gpx files and write them in modified form as Favourites that will work on the 3xx series.

For what ever it is worth,

For what ever it is worth, when I do this with my Garmin StreetPilot 2730, the Google Maps and Mapquest entry are not exactly the same. So you may want to try Mapquest just to see how it compares on your GPS. I think previous discussions also mentioned that the data displayed can vary depending on the model.

Thanks, I tried MapQuest and

Thanks, I tried MapQuest and got the same result. I solved the problem by using EasyGPS to go in and add the address and phone number and edit all my waypoints. Now everything works great.
