Organizing TomTom POIs

For a friend with a 130s. I understand POI files for a Tom Tom are ov2 format and are placed in the maps folder on the unit. However, is there a way to organize many individual POI files into categories or something?

For example, on my Garmin C580, I have an Attractions folder with several POI files, a Food folder with several POI files, a Lodging folder with several POI files, etc. However, I think Tom Tom doesn't allow folders in the maps directory.

Have you tried creating sub folders in the map folder. Place an ov2 file inside the sub and see what happens, also place an ogg file in sounds.

Edit: I tried my suggestion, TomTom does not see the ov2 file if placed in sub folder.

Thanks

Thank-you for trying a few things. Maybe someone else will comment if any organizing is possible.

Try looking over here...

www.tomtomforums.com for some more insight/info on TomTom's.

In all honesty I've never seen any threads relating to sub-folders and TomTom's before.

Good luck! wink
