Nuvi 350 Firmware Update

I know that this topic has been discussed for the past several months, but has anyone finally ironed out if it is worth updating. I am still reluctant to download and install the update.

Me too.. For me every time

Me too.. For me every time there is an update. I update mine and did not have a problem so far.

I'm starting to wonder why I need to update at all...

...with computers and hacking, and viruses, and what not, I suppose it's necessary. But why a GPS? It worked out of the box, it works now. What was so wrong with it that needs to be fixed? If it ain't broke, don't fix it is more my thinking these days for these gadgets. Seems more like silly obsessiveness than functional value being obtained thru updates.

If You Are Happy DONT Update

If you are happy with the way your GPS works then I would recommend that you don't update.

My experience with the 7xx series has been that Garmin does not thoroughly test the updates before they are released. Each update either introduces a new bug or breaks something which worked fine previously. So far Garmin has fixed the problems with subsequent updates, but in the meantime the end user has to deal with the problems.
