Setting proximity alerts

On Garmin 750 I have downloaded several POI's with ICONS and mp3 sounds. The Icons work but sounds (Alerts) do not play. Help says to set proximity alerts -go to tools,settings,proximity points.Touch "change" to turn alerts on or off.I follow the directions and get to proximity points in settings and the only selection choice is (tour guide:auto play-prompt-and OFF.) there is no selection for proximity alerts /0n/off.
any suggestions??

Did you SET an alert when you loaded the Custom POIs? Regular Custom POIs don't alert by default. You won't get the Proximity Points button unless you have Custom POIs loaded that have alert information in them.
You must set an alert if you want an alert to sound. You can run POI Loader in Manual Mode and set whatever alerts you want. Or you can put some alert information in the files themselves.
If you run POI Loader in Manual Mode instead of Express Mode, you can set whatever alerts you wish.

Also, be aware that alerts will only sound if you are on the road on which the POI is located, traveling in the direction of the POI, and if the POI is located sufficiently close to the road (typically 50 feet).
