Speed Alerts in Bellevue, WA

When driving in Bellevue, WA, I had two 7 MPH alerts go off but there was no school or speed restriction in the area. Why?

1. Along Bel-Red Rd. near NE 24th St.

2. Along 148th Ave NE between (I think) NE 8th St and Main St.

Speed Alerts in Bellevue

Do you have any POI loaded in these areas other than speed or red light cameras? The best way to determine what caused your unit to alert would be to look at the alert message and see what it's trying to warn you about.

.

Check the other Custom POIs that you have loaded?

Do you have the number "7" in the filename of any of them? (eg 7-11?)

POI Loader will interpret numbers (ie numerals) in the filename as a speed alert. Change the name(s) and reload your Custom POIs and it will go away.

Custom POI

Yes, I do have custom POIs loaded including traffic cameras and speed alerts. I'll have to check if any of the POI file names included a "7". Unfortunately, I'm not in that location any more so I can't read the red speed alert message at the top of the screen.

.

You should be able to simulate a route past that location by turning the GPS antenna off and panning the map to near that location and then selecting a location to "go to" that will pass through suspected POI location.

Just make sure you hit the "Set Location" button to position yourself on one side of the test location before choosing a destination on the other side and hitting the "Go" button.

Simulation

Thank-you for the simulation tips. I'll give it a try.

Found It

The 7 MPH Speed Alert is coming from the default named 7-eleven_USA.csv because "7" is in the file name. Isn't anyone else having this same problem? I renamed my local file but seems like the name should be changed on this site. I'll wait for a response or two before sending a note to the author.

By the way, I downloaded some I-95 highway file so I guess I better not go 100MPH on I-95!
