As a Garmin "newbie" I have been trying to download a military lodging POI from http://www.poi-factory.com/node/1631. I downloaded it to a .doc file (Excel) but cannot move it from there to my Garmin instrument. I also went to Garmin and downloaded the POI loader. What could I be doing wrong? Thanks. JPaxton
Excell
In Excell you should save it as a csv file not a doc file. Then it will work in POI Loader.
Garmin Nuvi 750
exactly
What Tom said above. When you get the warning about saving the .csv file just ignore it and save the file. Run POILoader and you will find that it can now locate the file when you point to the folder it is located in.

A doc file is a Word file, not Excel. But the bigger question is why you changed the csv extention at all. Were you trying to edit it in Word?
Nuvi 660 -- and not upgrading it or maps until Garmin fixes long-standing bugs/problems, and get maps to where they are much more current, AND corrected on a more timely basis when advised of mistakes.
