I'm guessing it is brand new, hot off the press.
Where/who has it available for $100.....and why did you specify the 4040. Surely that model is not unique in the Maestro line.

New Voice Engine???
I was also wondering about it. $99 bucks seems a little steep to me, but may be worth it. Anyone purchase it yet?
It is on their site:
https://www.magellangps.com/support/product.asp?prodid=1873
Right under the new 2008/2009 map update. Only place on the site that shows this upgrade. Not much info on it though. You would think the site might be a little more informative with the products offered.
Note: I did find that the map upgrade was a big improvement when installed in my unit. Maybe 4 months difference if compared to reality. As for the voice recognition, I am not sure if I would pay the $99 bucks. I'd like more info on that as well.

Probably NOT worth it

A little assumption on my part but I doubt it is worth $10, much less $100.
If it is the same voice command structure that comes with the 4250, then it is pretty lame.
Go to "support" and have a look at the manual for the 4250 for a list of the voice commands. Pretty limited.
And for anything really useful, you still have to LOOK at the screen to pick what you want.
