Can I save my Favorites as a POI group on a 760?

Can I save some of my Favorites as a POI group/set on a 760? I have about 20 or more businesses that I frequent and it would be easier if they were in a POI set, hopefully on top and not last on my POI list. In fact I could do away with most of the sets that are on it already.

Thanks.

yes

i created an excell sheet with all my favorite POIs and named it "A" now it's the first list showing up on my list

Yes

Technically, you could actually just take the favorites file (current.gpx) and use as a POI file to be loaded with POI Loader. You actually don't even need to convert to CSV as POI Loader also accepts the gpx format used for the favorites.

If you do it this way, then you might want to delete the favorites one by one, not to have them duplicated as Favorites and POIs.

If you have selected a particular icon for the favorites, POI Loader will ignore the icons.

There is a simple program called Easygps that you can download at http://www.easygps.com/download.asp after you download it just go to Gps at top of page and select receive from gps.Once received just go to file at top of page and save as gpx file.

Use Garmin Mapsource, and it's free from Garmin's website!

Just download your favorites from your GPS using the transfer Waypoints "receive from device" option in Garmin MapSource transfer menu.

Next select and hilite all of the waypoints (favorites) you want in the POI file and then select save as and select gpx for file type to save to.

Once you saved the file just copy it to your POI directory that you use for Garmin POI loader and load just like any other custom POI file.

That's all there is to it.

I would like to thank everyone for your input, I work in the Baltimore/DC area, and while I know where they all are it is sometimes difficult to go from one to another.

I think I'll try your method first then experement with the others, but what is "Garmin MapSource transfer menu"? And can I use domarnoldi's idea of naming the fila A so I see it first?

Found it.

OK, that was embarrassing, I found MapSource using google(Garmin's site wasn't very helpful) and it looks like a hidden treasure!

Thanks, it's this weekend for me!

Use Version 6.13

Makes sure to use version 6.13. There are some problems with the newest version 6.14. Here's a previous discussion http://www.poi-factory.com/node/15660

Glad I looked at this

Glad I looked at this thread. I hadn't been able to find Map Source on Garmin site but now have it due to your Google tip.

Thanks
