360 With Bluetooth calling POIs?

Is it possible to make a POI file that is able to use the bluetooth phone category able to be dialed? I have tried inserting phone number into the fourth column, but it still does not allow me to dial using bluetooth. I can get it to dial if I add them to my favorites, but not a Poi. Is this possible? Can I convert my csv to another file type and gain this functionality?

GeePeeEx Editor

To be able to dial poi phone numbers via bluetooth, the poi file has to be in .gpx format. GeePeeEX Editor will create gpx file.

It has to be a gpx file instead of a gpi file...

The answer is yes it can but not with most poi downloaded... They can be converted.. an easy way is to use GeePeeEx editor...

GPX format

To access the 'phone number' field, you have to use a gpx file as input to POILoader.

See signature for link to trial version of GeePeeEx Editor. It can convert your csv files (and with luck) recognise the phone numbers and automatically put them in the correct fields.

In the trial version, telephone number access via the Favourites mechanism is unrestricted; POI creation is limited to 5 entries per file.

Edit I see I'm too slow... smile

GPX

Yup, what they said. Convert your downloaded poi to gpx. GeePeeEx Editor is terrific, well worth the cost. There are other converters out there, as well. I like GeePeeEx Editor.

GPX lets you do more than just dial the phone number.

Be aware that GPX files are way bigger than CSV files. If space is an issue you may not want to convert all your poi to gpx.

In the full version, does it allow them to be seen using something other than the "favorites" menu? That would be an easy way to clutter up my favorites.

The way to release the full potential, is to create gpx files for input to POILoader - I think of Favourites as a cut-down, quick-access, poor relation.

Re: the cluttering - that's actually a very good point. I think a "sanity question" would be a good idea - it would be very easy to quickly load several hundred Favourites, that could take some clearing up.

Um - act in haste, repent at leisure, or words to that effect.

Or ... just use google maps

Or ... just use google maps to send the POI to the phone. Almost all locations have a phone number and your nuvi will use it to dial.
