Garmin Strikes Again

Well folks, I just received my replacement
nuvi 760, after the 4.00 FW fiasco.
Well, this unit has FW ver 3.20 on it.
I don't see any listing on the Garmin website for this version. I did other searches, and found nothing.
I wonder if this is the next version to be released to fix 4.00?
It did lock up in the boot up screen one time, but it could have been the fact that the battery is very low, since I just took it out of the box.
I'll keep you all posted about any glitches I find with this ver, and keep an eye on the Garmin site to see if they release this ver anytime soon.

My 770 also came with 3.20

I have not had problems as you descirbe, I did however have it hooked to my computer for sometime while I backed up files and did other housekeeping. I took it on a couple test runs since without any problems. I believe I had read of someone having this version prior to the 4.0 release, but I maybe mistaken. At that time I did a search for 3.2 without any luck. At any rate I haven't found any reason to not use it. No lockups, works well with mp3/audio books playing etc.....

Historic Route 66

Did yours have Mad Maps Historic Route 66 loaded on it too?
Found it under extras.

Yes...it was listed under extras...

I found several things I hadn't noticed previously, but I thought it was because it was a 770 instead of a 760....

What else.....

What else did you find?
Did you have a 760 before and now you have a 770?
I thought that the only difference between the two models is that the 770 has Europe maps.

Hmmmm..

Under proximity alerts a setting for Garmin safety cameras and custom pois. If I remember correctly my 760 was just on or off.. An auto play for tour guides (which I didn't have installed) but didn't have that setting. That's about all I'm sure of... And they could be because of the mad map historic route 66 addition, although previously I had installed fudors on the 760

It also has 4 gigs of memory for the euro map

And the euro map may have something to do with the camera reference.... I guess I'll have to do some reading...

Extras

I did see the options for tour guides on my other unit.
I also saw the alerts for safety cameras and custom poi's, but but can't find it now. Where is it?
I noticed that when I power on it now says Sirf instantfix II.
I didn't have that on my other unit.

Under Proximity Alerts...

I just received a replacement 760 today (battery issues) and I too found the Route 66 maps installed. Haven't done anything with it, but I saw it was there.

Did yours have ver 3.20 software on it?
Sirf Instant fixII?

Interesting

I never noticed this before with my other nuvi 760, and I had the latest software.....

I've had the Sirf InstanFixII since 2.9

I did not notice it on 2.8 since I only had it for a couple of days until I upgraded to 2.9. Started noticing it after that.

Safety Camera

The only thing I have there is......

Custom POIs

Safety cameras is not there.

That was the way my 760 was...

I thought it might be because the 770 has the euro maps on it and the safty camera subs from Garmin are for european areas...
