Address from MapQuest v.s. Address in GPS

Did anybody notice when using the address sent by MapQuest, it did not say "Arriving at Destination on right (left)." - However, the location is very accurate. On the other hand, if using the address from GPS itself, it did say "Arriving at Destination on right (left)." - But the location is not very accurate. Any idea?

I have a Garmin nuvi 200.

Thanks a lot

.

Are you saying your unit does not say "Arriving at destination"? Or does it not say "Arriving at destination on right(left)"?

I think the difference is where your GPS coordinates are located in relation to the road. If the spot is right on the road, then the unit just says arriving at destination. But if the spot is clearly to the left or right side of the road, then the unit tells you which side it is on.

but both are the same location

It did not say either of them. I only saw it display "Arriving at zzzz." on the GPS

But they are the same location; how come they display differently? Thank you

Same "Location", Different Coordinates

Even though the location may be the same (i.e. 123 Smith Street), the actual coordinates provided by MapQuest could be slightly different than the built in POI coordinates.

In other words, the built in POI could be placing the "X" on the right side of the road, while MapQuest is placing the "X" in the center of the road.

OK

OK, that makes sense. But I feel the MapQuest is giving more accurate coordinates than POI. I am going to try Google map tomorrow and see what happens. Thanks
