Garmin SaversGuide

Well the wife and I decide to try out the SaversGuide offered by Garmin in our Nuvi 350. I had a 10% off discount code and I thought it might be useful. It arrived today and got it installed...but it expires in 10 months, not the 12 months as offered. I fired off an email for an explanation, and I'm waiting to hear back. If this SaversGuide works out for us I might consider renewing it next year. Does anyone else use the SaversGuide?

I was just asking that question ....

The subject came up at work the other days since kids have started selling the Entertainment book for school fundraisers (same company makes the SaversGuide). A coworker who has the saversguide and travels a lot both work and personal said he really did not use the guide a whole lot and that he prefered the coupons that come in the Entertainment book.

sorry, I don't use it

I was also thinking that the Entertainment book is comparable, but tailored for various regions in the country. I've used those in the past with mixed results (and they get cheaper as the year goes by...). Good luck with your SaversGuide - please report back with a review. I'm sure Garmin will make good on the 12 months.

I purchased the savers guide

I purchased the savers guide and found that it really didnt help and some vendors did not honor it. Hotel discounts didnt exist when you went to the hotel.

Checking it out.

Going to check this guide out!

10 months for 12

Garmin rep tells me "Unfortunately it is 12 months from when the card was made not from the time of purchase". I'm glad I didn't buy it in December!

That's bogus

Sure, I realize there are annual contracts with the services, but did the item have any date listed on it so you were aware?

It said on the Garmin site 12 months...

I for one would be upset. Was is purchased from Garmin or a Garmin dealer? If so I would ask for my money back.

Demanding a Refund

Since they're not honoring the "good for 12 months" as stated on their website, I will be contacting them and demanding a refund because of misrepresentation. Other than this incident, I've been very happy with Garmin and their support crew.

.

The language on Garmin's website is definitely misleading. It states "SaversGuide® cards are good for one year"

If Garmin refuses to issue a refund contact your credit card company and inform them that Garmin sold you the item under false pretenses. The credit card company should reverse the transaction.

Kudoz!

After a couple days, Garmin decided to give me a full refund on the SaversGuide. They sent me all the information needed to send it back. I don't mind paying for shipping. I half-expected then to fight me over it, but I'm glad they didn't. They've been nothing but helpful every time I've dealt with them. KUDOZ TO GARMIN!

Kudoz? Why Kudos they beat you! It ended up costing you bucks!

Seems to me like Garmin did you in, So why the Kudoz?
It still cost you money, you had to pay to send it back. Seems to me that since they advertised the product for 12 months and only gave you 10 months that you caved by paying to ship it back. I would have had them send a UPS call tag to pick it up on their dime.
