As a newbie to the world of Nuvi(s) and POI's I would like to say that there sure is a wealth of information here. Thanks to those authors of the various POI's,
especially the Hamradio repeaters and Rest Area POI's.
I am just a breath away from ordering a Nuvi 750 but the chatter about the 4.0 upgrade has given me pause.
I guess I could just order the 750 and wait until Garmin sorts it all out.

I wouldn't worry to much about it. Most are like me, they want the option to change back, but if you can't well... Garmin is still a great product.

Once you get your Nuvi and download the repeater files, you might just throw out your repeater directory.

Repeater Directory
I agree!
There is (unfortunately) no one accurate and up to date source for repeaters, but the ease and pleasure of using the POIs here keeps the Repeater Directory at home!

Repeater POI update.
Well I think I can dump the old 2003 ARRL repeater directory.
Regarding POI update. I guess if individual hams kept track of changes within their state from their repeater coordination folks (by whatever means)and notify the Repeater POI author of those changes it would help all of us. Understanding of course that Un-coordinated changes do occur from time to time.
If Lat & Lon is not avaiable for security reasons then a city Lat & Lon should suffice.
The Repeater POI author certainly has done an excellent job of making those state by state POI's available and will make checking reasonably easy I would think.
I hope it was ok to post this thread in this area, if not maybe someone can move it.
Nice to meet you guys & gal's
